I am always so very grateful and blessed to have my talent and the honor of capturing weddings for my clients, and when a wedding is over the top with lots of great people, decor, and NYC, I am always at Ahh over the possibilities which are endless on how to paint with my heart and eyes for my clients so that they can memorize their day forever. This is how lucky I was when I received a phone call from Jerome, who had looked at the preferred vendor’s list at The Westin Resort & Spa, after speaking to this very nice client, I knew I was going to have an amazing wedding to capture.
As the day came to us, we already had a well-designed timeline, I always show up very early for my weddings, common respect and perfect business practice for me. I arrived at Jerome room, full of very nice groomsmen, the guys wore grey suits, they were very happy and received a gift from Jerome after capturing them both indoor and outdoors, I went to Michelle room, the bridesmaid in their orange palette dresses, they also received a gift from Michelle who wore a gorgeous dress, both little girls, mom, and mother in law were there. We had Michelle father see his daughter for the first time in her dress, my favorite moment. After capturing them all we went to The Ocean Front Deck ceremony decorated to perfection with over 150 family and friends and guest, there the wonderful Ashlee Fleming from the Westin Resort & Spa and her team took over, the ceremony went very well, the couple shined in happiness. Family and friends enjoyed the cocktail hour on the deck while I captured the bridal party, Michelle and Jerome, shortly after that we arrived for The reception at The Westin Pavilion that was decorated so Southern Chic, to include the best Dj I have ever had the pleasure of working with my man Ross Brown, who in my mind made the night that much better, and a true professional. Everyone enjoyed the evening and once again, I have added to my blog great clients and an amazing wedding.
To my very nice clients Michelle & Jerome your beautiful daughters, the family and friends, and the Westin who without you, I would have never had the pleasure of meeting and capturing these fantastic clients Magical Day. I wish you Michelle and Jerome, a beautiful life together, my very best and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Enjoy my art I have created for you all.
Here from the couple is how this day became:
Jerome hails from Tulsa, OK. This southern gentleman has lived in New York City for the past 11 years but has never lost his southern charm. This man of many talents enjoys spending time with his fiancé Michelle, caring for his daughter, drawing and listening to good music. Jerome is a simple man with many complexities that adds to his alluring persona. After a productive day, he wants little more than a good plate of food, a good game, cold beer, and the knowledge that those he holds dear are doing well.
Michelle, born in Little Rock, Arkansas is a southern belle at heart with the quick-wit and fashion sense of a native New Yorker. A true family gal, she treasures time with her fiancé and his daughter Brianna as much as time spent at family reunions, or playing bid whist with her Arkansas family. Curious, competitive and nurturing, she is the perfect compliment to her fiancé and can comfortably exclaim her famed down-home expression “my word” while attempting to hail a cab in her Jimmy Choo stilettos. In Jerome’s eyes, Michelle is a true southern-fashionista, with a heart as pure as gold.
Michelle and Jerome met New Year’s Eve 2011 at the house party of Jerome’s close friend Anitra. The two were immediately drawn to each other from the moment they met. Michelle’s attempts at mystery, with controlled interest, were no match for Jerome’s curiosity. Could she be the one? Neither strayed too far from the others line of sight that evening. As the night wound down and Michelle and her friends prepared to leave the two burgeoning lovebirds made certain that keeping in touch would not be a question; they were both smitten.
The first time Michelle and Jerome spoke on the phone it was a moment truly to never be forgotten. He stepped out onto his balcony; she stuck her head out of her window and both waved hello thinking I cannot believe we have missed each other this long…
May 23, 2015, we celebrated our love at the Westin Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, SC “where Southern Charm met Manhattan Chic.”
