Do you know how the term "bridesmaids" came to be? In the past, bridesmaids were integral to the bride's journey to the groom's village, providing support and comfort. It was also required by law to have ten witnesses who could outsmart evil spirits. To confuse the nerves, the bridesmaids and ushers would dress similarly to the bride and groom. Nowadays, bridesmaids are chosen for their close relationships with the bride, often including sisters and best friends. As a photographer, I have captured many beautiful moments at The Westin Resort & Spa in Hilton Head, South Carolina, including a joyful photo session with eight bridesmaids who were having fun and posing beautifully. It is one of my favorite bridesmaid photos and captures the love and unity shared between these extraordinary women.
