Canon Park Bridal Portrait Photographer

Located near the Medical University of South Carolina on Calhoun Street, Cannon Park is a popular park in Charleston. It boasts four impressive columns that were originally part of the old Thomson Auditorium, which was destroyed by fire in October 1981. These columns are now the only remaining feature of the building. Cannon Park is an excellent example of the city's rich architectural history, and it reminds us to appreciate the beauty of the designs created by architects in the 1800s. As a wedding photographer in Charleston, I always try to incorporate historic buildings into my art. For this bridal portrait, my client chose Cannon Park as the location. However, the park is not without its challenges. For example, there are many cars, electrical poles, and lines that can detract from the image. To overcome these challenges, I had to carefully select the perfect angle and composition for the photo. The result is a stunning portrait of the bride, who wore a beautiful silk-faced organza gown by Jim Hjelm by Hayley Paige. The blue sky and rustic columns create a breathtaking backdrop for this unique and stylish portrait.
